    Looking to showcase your individual artistry? We are always looking for volunteers to share their creativity. Art forms can include music, dance/movement, poetry, and visual art representations.

    Group performances are welcome! Whether you’re part of a choir or improv group, we would love to have you!

    Are you part of an organization that aligns with our mission? Would you like to be featured at our performances? We love providing education and resources to the community in whatever capacity we have.

FAQs

  • Volunteer artists for the One Voice Benefit Concert are individuals who are volunteering their time and artistry to the event and, ultimately, the cause of ending sexual violence and providing resources to primary and secondary survivors.

  • Any art form is welcome! Predominantly this evening features musicians, but has also included dance and movement forms. For 2023 we will be featuring musicians, visual art pieces, and potentially some poetry.

  • This evening is meant to empower not just our audience, but our performers as well. Besides a set length of your act, your creativity is free to take flight however you envision it. We do request some mindfulness around how you are presenting your artistry and to think about how this will impact and audience that has survivors in it.

  • Being a survivor of sexual violence is not a requirement to participate as a volunteer. All are welcome no matter how sexual violence has directly impacted your life.

  • Identifying yourself explicitly as a survivor is completely up to you and not a requirement. The goal of this event is to empower survivors to share their experiences however feels best for them. For some that’s sharing details of their journey and for others it might just be attendance or participation.

  • Submit your Volunteer Artist Form for review by the founder and coordinator of OVBC, Christine Lewallen. You can also contact her directly via email- christine.petersen93@gmail.com

    Coordinate a phone call or meeting with Christine to discuss your performance, answer any questions you have, and touch base about any support you might need.

    Submit a photo and brief biographical introduction to be featured on the website and to be read at the concert as your introduction.

  • We have allotted 5-10 minute sets based on what your comfort level and material is. We are also happy to discuss this further if you need less or more time!

  • Our goal of this event is to empower survivors to facilitate healing through the arts. Whether you have been affected directly or indirectly by sexual violence, this event creates a special community where our voices can be heard, survivors are honored, and awareness around sexual violence is developed. This event is meant to give individuals a platform to heal from sexual violence.
